Christian Humanism

A forum discussion in which we must all engage! Christian Humanism  This is the definition:  Christian humanism is the belief that human freedom and individualism are intrinsic (natural) parts of, or are at least compatible with, Christian doctrine and practice. It is a philosophical union of Christian and humanist principles.[1] Why did this subject come up? Well it happened when I stumbled upon a quote that was very powerful. So I thought I would explore it more. And so I did, With my ap, quote-zilla! And I would like you to discover the world of Dorothy, and here she is Dorothy L. Sayers Dorothy L. SayersBorn 13 June 1893Oxford, UKDied 17 December 1957 (aged 64)Witham, Essex, UKOccupation Novelist, Playwright, Essayist, translator, Copywriter, PoetGenres crime fictionLiterary movement Golden Age of Detective FictionInfluencedStieg LarssonDorothy Leigh Sayers (usually pronounced /ˈseɪ.ərz/, although Sayers herself preferred [ˈsɛːz] and encouraged the use of her middle initial to facilitate this pronunciation[1]) (Oxford, 13 June 1893 – Witham, 17 December 1957) was a renowned English crime writer, poet, playwright, essayist, translator and Christian humanist. She was also a student of classical and modern languages. She is best known for her mysteries, a series of novels and short stories set between World War I and World War II that feature English aristocrat and amateur sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey. However, Sayers herself considered her translation of Dante's Divina Commedia to be her best work. She is also known for her plays and essays. (This excerpt is of her directly from the Encyclopedia.) What fascinated me' was the idea of her Christian Humanism! Then in researching her and the philosophy more, non-other than my now deceased beloved Pope as you can see from the list of Christian Humanists, the person who , beside Our President Ronald Wilson Reagan who by the way the most notable person who was cause for the fall of Communism! And you have a Very large list: A. Richard NiebuhrJacques MaritainJohn Henry NewmanJim WallisKarol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II)Paul TillichReinhold NiebuhrSebastián PiñeraSøren KierkegaardThomas MertonThomas MoreTony CampoloT. S. Eliot These are all notable Christian Humanists! The most notable is Pope John Paul II.as I had said, but there are many more, as you can see! And what is at the root of this philosophy that all of these illustrious people have? I will start be discussing a fear, that many conservatives have when discussing Humanism.  The problem many people have when discussing Christian humanism is that it is tied to Secular Humanism.  If we look at many good philosophies we see their aduleration by those progressives who want to corrupt them. It is critical, as an example, that Charity we see as a good thing. But not when done based upon the will of my government and not the individual's personal volition. Also, volunteerism is good too, but not when mandated by a school or an institution of government, or government period. I think freedom and individualism are at the core of my beliefs as well as at the core of  conservativisms tenets. And you are born with it. The whole premise, not a piece of it. And God willed it that way! And it is inextricably linked to that which is our being, our essence! And when we are of that basic understanding, then as we govern, as We The People, and that is the Starting Point, then we have the best foundation for our laws, and our programs. Christian Humanism is tied to the 10 Commandments and the simple doctrines of our First 10 Amendments to the Constitution, The Bill of Rights. And what is the Christian Part, It is as simple as "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." You can not be truly free if you are burdened with guilt of harming others in any way! It also is at the basis of the doctrine: "we are granted by our creator certain unalienable rights among these is Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!" When we say that we are a  Judeo-Christian Nation, this is what is meant. Our founders are those who put in place the building blocks that have allowed us to thrive. All of them having strong Christian Backgrounds. And that must be so, as many fled Many parts of Europe over there desire to have Freedom of Religion! And upon those Freedoms they built this Country! That is why, just like the Bible we must stand firm on the Constitution itself, and that we should not undermine the core tenets in anyway, else we lose the greatest set of documents which enshrine  value system of our governance, and those that want to force group think, group charity, and group volunteerism down our throats, and the essence of what makes this the greatest country on Earth. The British author Dorothy L. Sayer, a notable Christian Humanist said "A human being must have occupation, if he or she is not to become a nuisance to the World!" that is a simple way of saying " we must have purpose and direction else we will be unproductive, and hence a burden on others, and in this case Government. This is an extremely important realization due to the Fact, Our current governance creates people without occupation, without purpose and direction , by removing the motivation and self-esteem of the individual. This is the root evil of our current government! It builds as some of our black conservative brethren describe "Government Plantations" which as importantly as making wards of the state; enslave the spirit of every human being without prejudice for race, color, creed, gender or ethnicity; it in other words, government is an equal opportunity enslaver and it's plantation is built for everyone! So it is not harmful to, through the power granted to us first by God, and then under the power of our Constitution, forthrightly state and confirm our intention to breakdown the programs that enslave, and defeat the utter essence of the human spirit, post haste! Thus We must destroy the welfare state in all of it's forms and policies for the good of humanity! And again i will repeat, As The British author Dorothy L. Sayer, a notable Christian Humanist said "A human being must have occupation, if he or she is not to become a nuisance to the World!"
