Is the DCCC Losing its Grip?

By my close Friend, Loren Heal. Here is his Post from just earlier today. The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee — Nancy Pelosi’s organization to raise funds to return her to power — sent out a fundraising letter over the debt ceiling increase. That normally isn’t news, nor is Democrats lying. But the weird, over-the-edge direction their letter took made me wonder what they were talking about. The letter, reproduced below, is the kind of thing that would cause you to get sued for defamation in any other walk of life, but in politics it’s just another bit of pollution. The apparent reason for the letter (beside Democrats simply wanting power) is a statement made by Speaker Boehner in Idaho to use the President’s demand for a debt limit hike to demand spending cuts, promising a “whale of a fight.” Via Newsmax.com: “The president doesn’t think this is fair, thinks I’m being difficult to deal with,” Boehner said Monday at a fundraiser in Idaho for fellow Republican Rep. Mike Simpson. “But I’ll say this: It may be unfair, but what I’m trying to do here is to leverage the political process to produce more change than what it would produce if left to its own devices.” Somehow, the DCCC gets from there to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid cuts. Notice they say nothing about the unpopular Obamacare, which is actually destroying those programs by wreaking havoc in the economy. Now, *I* think these programs need to be radically reformed to be run by the states, which would make them cheaper — states being better at this sort of thing and not being able to print money. And Social Security should be replaced with some kind of personal savings account, like the yearly leftover from an HSA. There, I’ve just replaced Obamacare. But John Boehner doesn’t think any of that, as far as I know. He wants to preserve those programs. So here’s what the DCCC say about it: Boehner Demands Medicare, Social Security And Medicaid Cuts To Raise Debt Limit Boehner just went ballistic. Speaking this week on the looming debt ceiling, Boehner vowed to put up a “whale of a fight” against President Obama. He’s actually threatening President Obama with this appalling choice: either agree to dismantle Medicare and Social Security — OR risk the full faith and credit of the United States. President Obama won’t play Boehner’s games, and neither will we. Name: [STUPID MARK] Supporter record: [STUPID MARK NUMBER] Suggested Support: $3.00 [INSERT STUPID MARK FIRST NAME] — we’ve got 3 days left to raise the $400,000 we need to fight back. Will you help us show that Democrats nationwide are united and committed to taking on Boehner and his reckless threats to destroy Medicare and Social Security? Chip in $3 or more to fight back against Boehner before the fundraising deadline >> Republicans are willing to throw the full faith and credit of the United States government out the window — just to spite President Obama. And they certainly have no problem dismantling Medicare (just ask Paul Ryan). As long as millionaires and billionaires keep their tax breaks, Republicans like Boehner could care less. It’s up to us to call out House Republicans for putting millionaire tax breaks before seniors’ health care benefits. http://dccc.org/Fight-Boehner Thanks, Democrats 2014 Have Democrats finally lost their collective hive mind? Not only all of that, but the premise that the passing the debt limit would lead to default is incorrect, as has been shown here at Redstate over and over. As long as there is enough money coming in to the Treasury each month to pay the interest and repay the principle on maturing bonds, bond markets and rating agencies will be happy. The debt limit does not have to be increased to pay current and old obligations. Running up against the limit would mean that the federal government could not borrow more to fund new spending. And that is what Democrats cannot stand. Hence, they bring the crazy. Tags: dccc, debt, debt ceiling, debt limit, speaker boehner

  • This is so typically ridiculous it is hard to respond to; the really sad part is that so many people swallow this kind of junk hook, line and sinker--and then repeat it when you try to have a discussion on issues! I really like the proposal Dr. Benjamin Carson put forth in his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast which would do away with Obamacare and many social programs that are not effective; but it's too logical, and will not need the "handling" of the feds--so no way for them to make money off of the average "Joe" or control it.

I'm actually beginning to believe it will take the dismantling of the entire government as it is today, and "starting from scratch" with the Constitution for there to be any real answers to the problems we're facing. Either that or several huge calamities that will force the dismantling process. First one to go? IRS!
