Thank you to my friend for telling me about the conservative think-tank Hudson Institute.I checked out their Bradley Symposium for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal discussion panel. The transcript of their discussion at the 2009 Bradley Symposium "Making Conservatism Credible Again" is available here:http://www.hudson.org/files/documents/BradleyCenter/2009_Bradley_Sy...What's especially interesting starts on page 24 about the viability of "re-energizing" or taking back the Republican party. One panelist states that perhaps removing ourselves from the Republican party would help our chances at winning elections and having a say in the political arena. Another panelist says that, on the other hand, in a practical sense, the current viable vehicle for moving forward with conservative political goals is to use the Republican party. This is the crux of our current problem, isn't it? Very interesting to listen to this panel. You can hear the audio of the 2009 Bradley Symposium by clicking on the orange audio&video clips button on this page:http://www.hudson.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=hudson_upcoming_events&id=680-Suzanne
