The Sad truth about our Unemployment rate reported this October 2012

Mike Master reports: Since 175,000 new people enter the job market each month, all economists forecasted that the unemployment rate would increase to 8.2% from 8.1% for September, 2012 with about 120,000 new jobs being created. Instead, the Labor Department decreased the unemployment rate to 7.8% even though only 114,000 new jobs were created ... which "surprised" the economist community. For the unemployment rate to decrease by .3 to 7.8, 600,000 new jobs were needed. 114,000 is a far cry from 600,000. If the same number of people was used to calculate the unemployment rate as were available in the work force in January, 2009, then the unemployment rate would be more than 11%. And that does not consider that 11 million people (6 to 7 million workers) have been added to the population since January, 2009. If 6 million people are added to the available work force of Jan, 2009, then the unemployment rate is close to 14%. Instead, the Labor Department reduced the available work force from what was available in January, 2009 to calculate the rate for the months prior to September. How did the unemployment rate decrease for September with only 114,000 new jobs? The Department of Labor reports to the president. The Department of Labor changed how it measures unemployment again. Read and listen to this video as to how the unemployment rate was "cooked" by the Labor Department by how it changed to measuring "samples" from household surveys when it was previously measuring "actual" hiring information that was provided directly from businesses from payroll tax/social security forms as new employees were hired. And most of the media is complicit in allowing this to happen. This is a huge scandal that is being ignored by the complicit media.
