The Truth. 9-12 March on Washington. Participation approx. 2 million per ABC News and others.Unlike Michelle Obama and her husband, I'm very proud of my country and I am more than elated to have been a part of this HISTORIC event on Saturday ( DC 9/12 March on Washington - 9/12 wasn't just the date, it represents 9 Principals - 12 Values http://www.the912project.com/). This was a peaceful, joyous, family friendly, all ages, all backgrounds; all States and non political party demonstration to show those in Washington that we want them to get our country back on the right track and follow the Constitution. Several members of the group I went with (Restore America's Mission - 5 bus loads), including me made it to the base of the east wing of the Capitol about 30 feet from the steps and 100 feet from the stage. Others were spread out in all directions.The March itself started before 9 a.m. in the vicinity of Freedom Plaza (13/14 Sts. & PA Ave.), about 2 blocks from the White House and continued to the steps of the Capitol about 10 blocks away, officially ending at 4 p.m. People continued arriving until the end. Pennsylvania Ave was filled wall to wall.Please click on the links for info and many views of the event and participants. Note that DC Police closed many area roads in addition to PA Ave (around 4pm) as the day progressed and people continued to pour into the Capitol. Many were forced to abandon their vehicles and forced to walk in. Many never made it. Those trying to leave after the event were forced to take alternate routes outbound (including our buses). So far, I have not come across a full aerial photo that shows the entire breath of massive crowd. Helicopters hovered overhead at times, so someone has these, including the government themselves (Homeland Security). Some are awaiting an "official" tally; others are terrified to report it. Sadly, more information is available about this momentous event that occurred in our Nation's Capitol in the European media. Many in the government continue their attempts to play this down (Official White House word yesterday was that they weren't even aware - IMPOSSIBLE - Obama was out of town after all), but they are losing ground and what little credibility that they think they still have.Much more information and hopefully official tallies will be reported on Monday.
