Apparently the National Tea Party Convention is facing serious criticism from within the Movement.  This of course must be taken with a grain of salt, but it must also be noted that Tea Party Patriots, a leading organization chose not to participate early on, partially due to the very nature of the current uproar, which is that the event was priced out of most people’s price range at $500 a ticket plus additional expenses.  While this isn’t the only sour ingredient in the mix, it is the one cited as the most grievous.

The event sold out early, but it was in my opinion very limited for participants.  In one regard it should be noted that this was the first event of its kind in modern times, although conversely when taking into account the crowds that gathered at past Tea Party events, expectations for huge ticket sales should have been anticipated and a significant effort should have been made to somehow accommodate as many as possible.

While growing pains are to be expected, it is none the less very unfortunate to put on a display of disunity and dissention at a time of growing momentum for our side in retrospect to the apprehension and fracturing among those on the opposite side.  We need not lend comfort or offer red meat for the Socialists and their minions in the press to chew on and spit back at us.

We will watch and hope that this affair will turn out for the best in the short and long term for those participating and for the movement as a whole.
