An American student has been shot and killed in Ciudad Juárez, officials said Wednesday, making him the fifth American to be killed in the city since Friday. The student, Eder Diaz, who attended the University of Texas at El Paso, and a classmate from Mexico were killed Tuesday, the United States Consulate in Ciudad Juárez said. A Mexican investigator identified the classmate as Manuel Acosta. All of the Americans were from El Paso, which is across the border from Ciudad Juárez.

When is the US Government going to get serious about protecting American Citizens in Mexico and on it's border? We continue to see the United States administation continue to be concerned about appearances over National and Ethnic Sensitivities over the Protection of US Citizens. This foolish attitude by the Obama Administration is jeapordizing our students and those other Americans who reside and visit Mexico. We must get past the political correctness and understand that our priorities must be first and foremost the lives and well-being of American Citizens. We can also with Diplomatic aplumb be elevated in the eyes of the Mexican Government and it's people who are being terrorized and murdered on a regular basis.
We also know that murder of large groups of Mexican citizens are happening all at once.
Police officers are being targeted by the drug lords. Police Captains and town officials in the various towns are being targeted and executed. As a result we are seeing the wholesale resignation of these elected and appointed leaders and law enforcement. There is a break down of the civil institutions at an alarming rate.
Police stations are being targeted as well. As a result of one of the most recent attacks, an entire police force summarily resigned leaving the citizenry completely helpless in the reign of terror of the Criminal syndicates.
We would never see this increase in violence if it were not for the increased vigilance against such activity from the Mexican Federal Government and the assistance of the local Mexican police agencies. In the past the drug cartels were not concerned by the justice officials of Mexico. The Mexican Government is now strongly pursuing and arresting these wanton criminals.
We need to offer full assistance and cooperation to the Mexican Government and actually demand that we assist and be given the opportunity to investigate the murder of US citizens in the border region of Mexico. This is no longer a matter that the United States Administration can look at as a matter of the Mexican authorities exclusively. Our sovereignty has been compromised for some time with the lack of border control. The Mexican government does not have the means to protect it's own people nor create an atmosphere of Law and Order let alone maintain it for American Citizens. Above all else the first duty of our Federal Government is to protect its citizens. This is not half way around the world. This is a problem that is occuring right now on our border.
Now once and for all we must take this problem seriously, dead seriously!
